Hello, I’m Stacey. I’m a SOMA Breath® instructor and ICF coach who helps people recover from stress so they can think clearly, stay composed under pressure, and protect their energy when life is demanding.
My work is based on a simple idea: most people know how to push through stress. Far fewer know how to recover from it. That’s a natural response.
When we feel pressure, our nervous system activates quickly. Our breathing shortens, our thinking narrows, and tension builds in our body.
The stress we experience is not the problem. It’s when our body stays activated longer than it needs to.
The consequences of this show up in ways many of us recognize:
- Our mind keeps running at night when we’re trying to sleep.
- We feel irritated by things that usually wouldn’t matter.
- Sometimes we’re simply too drained to fully engage with the people around us.
Over time, stress stops being a moment and becomes a constant.
Eventually, that constant stress wore down my immune system and led to shingles.
For someone who always had a lot of energy and drive when it came to work, fitness, and life, I was devastated. I couldn’t walk for over a week.
It was my wake-up call that forced me to ask:
“If chronic stress was the culprit, what could I actually do about it?”
People would say things like, “Try yoga,” or “You should meditate.” And while those practices help many people, they didn’t solve the real problem I was experiencing in everyday life.
Other advice didn’t feel practical either. Drink less caffeine. Slow down. Do less. But that wasn’t my lifestyle, and it’s not the lifestyle of many professionals.
SOMA Breath was the practice that finally answered my question.
For me, it felt completely different from anything I had tried before. For the first time, I could feel my body come down from the stress. What surprised me most was that the effect lasted.
Today, I teach these same breathwork practices to help people recover from stress and return to a clear, steady state even when life is demanding.
